A large building with many computers combined together, making a home for computers in UTM. There were lots of data; whether visually or listening, to process, making the energy drink we have gotten before the amazing tour, worth it.

We first started off with a group photo. The students from faculty of Management and Computer were present at that time. Followed after the group photo, we have gotten a tour of the old computer components. The person who has given us the touring, gave us details of each of the computer parts. He made us understand more of how big the difference and how much, us humans advanced in technology. What surprises me most is, how much they used to give lots of inputs to only have a little output. A memory back then was around 1.44MB, while currently we go to terabytes/petabytes. It is not surprising if we look on their point of view as they do not have much data to store to begin with and as well do not have the right tools for it.

After the historical tour, we have gone to the high-tech computers. From small to big, from graphic tablets to a closed sound proof room. I have tried one of their computer (Macintosh) one day and they work pretty well and using adobe illustrator to do logo designs is a visually pleasant sight.

The high tech computers we had seen and many other we were not able to see; have each of their own purposes. It supports the students and staff members. Every data that has been recorded inside UTM, has been stored in that building and that is the reason to why it is called CICT: center for information & communication technology.
I am happy that I had joined this tour and hopefully be able to see the other rooms that I could not go to one day.
